The 5 secrets to finding happiness is first loving yourself unconditionally and completely, second being grateful for where you are, third letting go, fourth living in the moment, and fifth realizing less is actually more.

When most of us think about happiness we think of how happy we would be if we had lots of money, a partner to share our lives with, or something someone else posses. This is actually a false sense of self in the world. And we become clouded from what really brings us happiness. The truth is - we are the creator of our happiness.

First, we need to learn to love yourselves unconditionally and completely. By doing that we need to get to know ourselves. Then practicing loving our own company - when no one else is around us. When you feel continual bliss without any external stimuli - you have accomplished loving yourself. It is no one's responsibility but your own to make you happy.

Second, we need to be grateful for where we are. For instance, if we are living in Alaska - we are grateful to experience all of the natural beauty Alaska has to offer and the culture. We are grateful for the modern day conveniences we have. The clothes we have and the home we live in, etc. When we are grateful - we do not take our life for granted. We appreciate what we have by recognizing what is truly important to us.

Third, we need to learn to let go of everything. When we overanalyze we tend to become frozen from moving forward. For instance, thinking about the past, something that has not happened, or imagining something that will never happen. It leads to storytelling. When we cannot let go of past relationships we aren't able to move forward and progress in our life. Instead, we are held hostage by your own will. You have to let go in order for you to be happy.

Fourth, it is imperative for us to live in the moment because that is where we are always physically. And our mind should be present with our body. Our mind should not be floating off to the past or unknown future. For us to be happy we need to be present in our life.

Fifth, we need to realize that less is actually more. When we clutter up our environment with material things we actually clutter up our minds and our energy. The energy is actually decreased instead of increased. In order for you to be happy you have to practice being mindful of what you need in your life and what you don't need? And how much should you eat too. Overall, less is more. Because your benefit by having more happiness in your life when you have less material possessions.

Now that we know the 5 secrets to finding happiness we can apply those things into our lives. The benefits of loving yourself unconditionally and completely, being grateful for where you are, letting go, living in the moment, and realizing less is actually more are all imperative to building a happier life. And knowing that we have complete control over our own happiness is essential to our overall well-being.
